Data & terms

Wimmel shows open data. It is not an official product of SBB, swisstopo, the BAV or any transport company.

Operator

Wimmel is a private project of Rafael Matias in Switzerland. Wimmel publishes the processed data under this name. Contact: [email protected]. The privacy notice tells you which personal data the site uses.

Timetable
GTFS timetable from opentransportdata.swiss. Service day Saturday 24 October, built 24 Oct 2026, 01:21.
Live delays
GTFS-RT trip updates from opentransportdata.swiss. The server polls the feed every 35 seconds.
Disruptions
GTFS-RT service alerts from opentransportdata.swiss. The server polls the feed every 5 minutes and records when each alert is active. Since 23 October 2026, Wimmel publishes the recorded alerts of each past day (alerts.json, below).
Train formations
Train Formation Service from opentransportdata.swiss, for SBB, BLS, SOB, RhB, THURBO, zb, tpf, transN, MBC and OeBB. The server asks for a formation when you select a train, and keeps it for 5 minutes.

Processed data

Wimmel processes the raw data. It cuts out one service day, snaps the vehicles to the track and the roads, adds heights from the terrain, and spreads stop times that the timetable gives on the same minute. These steps change the data. Positions between stops are estimates, not measurements.

The processed days contain paths derived from OpenStreetMap. They are available under the ODbL 1.0, one set of files per service day:

No warranty

The data can be incomplete, late or wrong. Do not use Wimmel to plan a journey. Use the timetable of your transport company. To the extent that the law permits, the operator of Wimmel accepts no liability for damage or loss from the use of this page or its data. The data providers give no warranty either.
